Valley Christian Fellowship Outreaches

China Springs/Aurora Pines
Boys and Girls Facility for misdemeanor offenders.
Our goal is to share Jesus Christ's love and salvation. We teach them from the Bible; that they need to develop their own relationship with Jesus; how to pray and learning to put their trust in Jesus.
They are given a Bible and highlighter so they can read along (and take home when they leave camp).
Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 PM there are Bible Study Teams at each camp. Sundays from 2:00 - 4:00 PM a Church Service is held at each camp.

Mexico Missions
We schedule trips into Mexico to build Church Buildings and minister on the streets and dirt paths of Mexico.
We attempt to raise enough money through fund raisers to take us down and back.
Trips cost approximately $450 per person. This ministry is not for the faint of heart as the hours in Mexico are 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. six days in a row. It is well worth the effort as we see many reap the reward of our labor, and many come to Christ.
If you have questions or interest, please contact Joe Doherty @ deacon_joe@valleycf.org.

Christian 12-Step
We meet Monday nights at 6:30 to work through "The Twelve Steps for Christians" book for any addictive behavioral problems. This includes drugs, alcohol, co-dependency, overeating, gambling, sex, anger, etc.. Our belief is that Jesus Christ will be able to help with these problems when we understand his word and how it applies to us on a day to day basis.

Intercessory Prayer
Our purpose is to meet with God as a group in one accord and bring to Him our supplications, prayers, intercession, and giving of thanks. We pray as the Holy Spirit leads. For the lost, our president, nation, body of Christ, our city and state, the local body of believers, and the pastors that God has placed in His army to lead His sheep.
Our goal is to see the lost saved, and the church rise up to do what God has called it to do in these last days. Through the power of prayer and agreement in His word, we will see God move mightily.
Isaiah 59:1 BEHOLD, THE Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

Prayer Chain Ministry
Valley Christian Fellowship's prayer chain is a means of passing urgent prayer onto a group of volunteers who have signed up to pray for these needs. The requests are taken through day and night.
There have been many wonderful answers to these prayers such as healing, financial, job openings and salvations.
Prayer is the heart of VCF and those who pray for each need are dedicated to do so.
Luke 18:1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart
James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Jail Ministry
Every five weeks, we have an opportunity to minister in the Douglas County jail facility. The format is open to whatever the Lord leads us to teach.  Always the main thrust is salvation. Each opportunity, there is a different group of people ministered to. Almost without fail, someone will pray for salvation. At least one or two more people are needed to help. A guitar player is a big bonus, as music is a nice addition.

Worship Ministry
Our worship ministry for the Sunday service involves practice on Tuesday night from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and Sunday morning from 8:00-8:55 a.m., followed by pre-service prayer from 8:55-9:15. Our service time is  9:30am.
The involvement for the Saturday service includes practice time at 5:00-5:55 p.m. Saturday, followed by pre-service prayer from 5:55-6:15.
We believe that the worship team members are in a place of visible leadership and must therefore have certain leadership qualities. The Worship Team Director will have the responsibility of determining if the qualifications are met.
Our Church is growing and has a constant need for more volunteers in the worship ministry. Please, if you are musically talented and have a heart for worship let us know.
If you have questions or interest, please call Pastor Rob Simpson at 775-782-1961.

Sound-Projection/Video Ministry
The sound ministry involves coming to worship practices and services.
The times needed are Tuesday 7:00-8:30 p.m., Saturday 5:00-8:00 p.m., and Sunday 8:00-11:00 a.m.
The responsibilities include maintaining a professional audio mixing of the worship team, repairing wiring deficiencies, upgrading wiring and monitor systems, and maintaining an acceptable volume level for the people in the sanctuary.
The Projection/Video ministry involves coming to regular and special services.
. We like to have announcements and special images for the services.

Usher/Greeter Ministry
The Usher/Greeter Ministry is a vital aspect of guest services here at Valley Christian Fellowship. When arriving for Sunday morning service at 9:30 am, guests and regular attendees alike are warmly greeted at the front door by two cheerful Greeters. Besides hugs, handshakes and weekly bulletins, Greeters offer assistance and help newcomers get situated.
Our Ushers continue the enhancement of the visitor's experience with seating assistance in the sanctuary. Ushers provide guest packets, help serve communion and distribute an occasional hand-out to the congregation. Occasionally, Ushers serve at special events.
The primary goal for our Ushers and Greeters is to reflect the love of our Lord as they graciously interact with everyone who comes to worship and hear the Word at Valley Christian Fellowship.

Lift Kosova
Our testimony...
Don and Marti came to the Lord in 1985 -- through the evangelistic outreach of Great Falls Christian Center, Great Falls, MT. During the years they lived in Montana, Don worked as a long haul trucker and Marti as a nurse/truck driver. In 1989, they moved to Gardnerville, NV, where Don attended diamond cutting school and opened a business cutting diamonds. They also helped to pioneer Valley Christian Fellowship (VCF) in Gardnerville, Nevada. Always having a love and concern for the truck drivers, the Denhams, became chaplains to the trucking industry, serving for five years with Transport For Christ at Seattle East Truck stop in North Bend, WA. Don was ordained a pastor through VCF in 1994, and this is now their home church.
"LIFT KOSOVA", an outreach ministry to the Kosovar refugees in Durres, Albania and Gjakove, Kosova, began in April, 1999 by Don and Marti Denham. It is a non-profit organization under "Lift Inc.", and qualifies 501(c)(3), exempt from tax under 501(a) of the Internal Revenue code, as an organization described in 509(a)(1)(A) (vi). They reach out to the Kosovar people spiritually, physically and materially. The Lord has given Don and Marti a heart "to help", and a great love for the people. After building good relationships with these people, they have gained their love and respect, and now are given the opportunity to share the story of Jesus with the children, through Vacation Bible Schools, operation "Christmas Child" and other ministries. This is a Muslim nation, very steeped in "tradition", thus making the Gospel of Jesus Christ, very difficult, due to fears of rejection or worse from family.
To help the widows gain additional income, (their average income is $50 per month), Marti and Don have given them the resources to make needlework crafts, and have brought them to the US for purchase.  They give all funds back to the families who made the items.
Anyone with an interest in missions, would find this a worthy project. Send funds made out to "Lift Kosova" to P.O. Box 1362 -- Gardnerville, NV 89410. For those in Canada, make check out to River of Life Fellowship,  and send to Box 476 -- Milk River, AB T0K 1M0. Contributions are tax deductible.                                                                                                                                                                                                         Don and Marti continue to need ongoing support, should the Lord place this need on your heart, send any amount you choose to the above address. You may make your commitment for one year or longer, or a one time donation. Please indicate your length of commitment. If you would like to receive a monthly newsletter, let us know.
